Functioning as the Design Director for a small team of designers in Skiff’s New York City offices, I spent 16 months engaged with Hearst Publishing working on Skiff, their large format digital E-ink reader. I worked on everything from product definition, proof of concepts, product requirements, user experience to the final design. Extensive in-home user behavioral studies and personas were used to guide the product development as it evolved from a technical proof of concept into a rich and engaging experience that was deeply integrated with their hardware design, yet sensitive to the constraints of other mobile platforms.
Skiff was awarded “Most Innovative Product” at its CES launch.
